Dr. Amr Almaddah, is one of the teaching staff in the electrical engineering department in King Abdulaziz University in addition to his current position as the Deputy Minister for Hajj and Umrah Services in the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
Dr. Almaddah received his B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from King Abdulaziz University in 2007. From 2007 to 2008, he worked for Saudi Hollandi Bank as the western area premises engineer. In 2010 he received the M.S. degree in Robotics and Intelligent Systems from the Department of Systems Innovation in the Graduate School of Engineering Science at Osaka University, Osaka, Japan, where by 2013 he received his Ph.D degree from the same department. From 2013 to 2014 he worked as a research associate in King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC).
His current research interests include robotics, artificial intelligence, image processing, intelligent systems, sensors fusion, face recognition, and robotics vision. He is a member of the Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ), and the IEEE Society.
